Seeking advice on plaster molds...

I have just begun to try to use porcelain on plaster slump and hump molds.
It seems to be more difficult than using stoneware - especially on large
flat bottom pieces. Where stoneware works like a charm - porcelain seems to
crack and warp.... and of course the pyroplastic deformation of porcelain
at high firings. Does anyone have any experience in porcelain with slump
and hump molds?

I have tried several bodies, a very soft ^6 glacier porcelain fires to
wonderful glass like vitrification at ^10 - I know that is pushing but it
works! It is a pain to work on the plaster. Dave's Porcelain ^10 from
Laguna www.lagunaclay.com is a dream in the slab roller and much more
easily handled due to it firmness. Helios ^10 from HighWater
http://www.highwaterclays.com is also very good in the slab roller and
forms nicely. The molds for the plaster forms I use come from Pure & Simple
Pottery Products http://www.pspottery.com and I have been so happy using
them and their line of plaster bats.

Thank You
Michael
