I'm in the process of exploring the feasibility of doing an Empty
Bowls event in conjunction with NCECA next year in Charlotte, and
I would love to hear from anyone who has any feedback,
suggestions, etc. Also, if there's anyone out there who is from the
Charlotte area and knows about local potters groups there, please
email me off list.
At this (very preliminary) moment, I'm imagining the event to be
something that would happen off-site, rather than at the NCECA
hotel, and probably after the conference is formally over -- maybe
Saturday evening? Sunday noon? I'm imagining a combination of
bowls from Clayart folks, NCECA attendees, and local NC potters,
and I'm thinking that the people attending the event and buying the
bowls would be both folks attending NCECA and also people from
the local Charlotte community. I'm thinking maybe a large church,
ideally located near the conference hotel, could be a site to hold
the event. I'm undecided whether it should be a sale-only (much
easier) or sale with soup-and-bread meal (more fun).
Any thoughts?
