Hello fellow Clayarters,

The Clayart Center in Tacoma Washington has their web site up and
running. It may be the largest ceramic supplier site on the web. Check
it out, it is still evolving. I buy from them and I have had great
service, and very good pricing. The two owners are potters so they know
what we are trying to do and they understand what a potter looks for in
a clay, a glaze, tools or a kiln. The address is: www.clayartcenter.com

I do not work for them or derive any benefit from posting this message.

The owners of Tacoma's Clay Art Center might be potters, but the people
who take and fill your orders are possibly/probably not.

This past year I put in one order to Clay Art on AUG 26. When the order
shipped SEP 15, the 5@1-gram bottles of gold luster turned into 2@5-gram
plus 8@2-gram bottles (though I was charged for 25 grams, not the 36
received!), the pair of $7.50 leather gloves had been charged at $36.00
(even though the gloves still had a $7.50 price sticker on them!), and
neither the $17.55 bottle of brush cleaner nor the $17.55 bottle of
glaze cleaner that I was charged for were in the shipment.

The person who claimed to have filled the order admitted she was not a
potter and didn't really know anything about materials. She agreed to
my returning the extra gold for appropriate credit, crediting me for the
overcharge on the gloves, shipping the missing brush cleaner, crediting
me for the missing glaze cleaner (which they couldn't find), AND
crediting me for the return shipping on the gold (which I insured, given
the approx $125.00 value).

A credit to my account was issued OCT 5. They never did credit me for
the $8.56 return shipping.

If I buy again from them, it will be over the counter, not over the
phone.
