Chris,
this is not uncommon and with a gallery that supports
your work, and with whom you want to have a continuing
relationship, it may be a good idea.
In this case, since you did all of the legwork, talked
directly with the customer, delivered directly and all,
it is possible that you can work out a finder's fee, that
is some percentage less than wholesale, with them. They
did facilitate the finding of you for the customer and
the customer for you.
