Raku Workshop Information

Stay & Play
We are located in Central Vermont's beautiful Mad River Valley. Our Raku
workshops include a 2-night stay in our beautiful 1859 Farmhouse. Both a
full country breakfast and lunch are included; featuring many local &
organic ingredients. Please have a look at our website for more information
regarding our inn as well as the many activities the area has to offer.

The Raku firing allows the participant to choose from many low-fire
techniques. We feature four traditional glazes, horse hair and Naked (slip
resist) finishes for your pots. Demos on all techniques are given if you
are unfamiliar with the process. You will be able learn how to fire our
kilns and reduce your pots. The Raku process is all about experimentation,
so if you have a glaze you would like to try, please bring it along. The
firing will take place over two days. We will try to fire all of you pieces
but please limit the amount of work to what can fit on (2) 25" kiln shelves.
The Raku process involves propane, high heat, flames and smoke. If you
plan on leaning how to fire, please make sure that you are clothed in
natural fibers.
