Hi Eleanora,

Rings and Things in Seattle and Shipwreck Beads (also in Seattle or
vicinity) both have a huge selection of glass beads. RandT carries smaller
quantities. They both have websites which should be pretty easy to locate
using a standard search! Good luck!

Eleanora,

Try Fire Mountain Gems at 800-423-2319, or www.firemountaingems.com or
firemtn@cdsnet.net . There are others, but I don't have a catalog handy just
now. Write to me later, and I'll give you the information for Bead
Warehouse.

Eleanora,
The newsgroup "rec.crafts.beads" is a good place to start, friendly and
helpful too.
Greetings,

Musa

eleanora...

if you don't have a local bead shop... yellow pages... or haven't been
able to find one on the web... a good place would be to hit the magazine
racks... look at the beading... craft.... or more specifically...
ornament... magazines... in which you will find many sources... both
retail and wholesale... whatever your circumstances meet... for many
wonderful beads.... there are also a number of bead shows listed....
check on line under beads... or in ornament or a good bead magazine...
nice to be able to see them and then decide what types you want... have
fun!!!

Rings & Things: www.Rings-Things.com or order their catalog: 1-800-366-2156
Fire Nountain Gems: www.firemountaingems.com or 1-800-423-2319 for catalog.
Both sell a large assortment of glass, stone, shell bone, crystal, gold and
silver beads and findings. Check them out; their web pages do not have
nearly what their catalogs offer. Bead Fairies at:
http://members.home.net/sdsantan/beadfairies.html have hundreds of links.
Good hunting! -Teresa

Eleanora,

here's a couple of places I've gotten mail order beads from:

Sioux Trading Post
Rapid City, SD
1-800-456-3394
prairie@rapidnet.com
www.praireedge.com

Bally Bead Co.
Rockwall, TX
1-800-543-0280
they have a web site, but didn't print their address on the catalog
that
I have.

Although I've used both these companies (usual disclaimers!) with good
results, it's mostly been for harder to find, unusual beads. Generally I
go to the one of many bead stores around here for the small seed beads.
The last time I checked, there were lots of bead suppliers on the web.

There is also a beautiful magazine called "Ornament" which has tons of
advertisers. You might try getting a hold of a copy.

Good luck!

Valice

Thanks Valice, I sure wish I'd asked long ago, did this problem really have
to become so acute before I asked?
I'm doing these glass earrings, and each color needs an exact matching
little bead to decorate the wire I make.
So I have this growing backlog of lovely pairs I have no matching beads
for........

You have a great day in sunny ( perhaps) Sacramento. I have to go get
supplies in Rutland today and will be
driving the snowy mountains.

:) E.
