Winter/Spring classes now being offered at The Academy of Ceramic Art,
located in Jersey City. Classes range from an 8 seession wheel thrown
pottery course to a two day Raku Workshop.
Information on all courses, including tuition costs, is available by
calling 201-432-9315 or sending an email to fbacarts@aol.com to request the
latest brochure.
There will be five classes that will each meet for 8 sessions. These
include "The Basics of Handbuilding", "Ceramic Material Science",
"Wheel-Thrown Pottery" and "Moldmaking & SlipCasting".
Children's classes for ages 9 and up are offered on three consecutive
Saturdays in February.
Raku Workshop will be offered two times on Saturdays in March. The
Academy also offers a course called "Material Science Primer". This course
is designed for those who have a curiosity about the raw materials that
comprise clay bodies.
The NY/NJ Academy of Ceramic Art was founded in 1997 by Frank Bosco,
ceramic artist and educator who exhibits nationwide and is currently professor
at The Rhode Island School of Design.
