I haven't followed this thread extensively, but understand that some
potters have definite opinions about what porcelain should be used for.
Something I haven't seen mentioned, is that I use porcelain when making
outside tiles or small pieces because it is the only clay I can find
with 0% absorbancy which is necessary to prevent cracking through the
freezing etc. it would be exposed to.

Anything other than 0% absorbancy is not acceptable to the Tile Council
of America's standards for pool tiles, pond tiles, etc. exposed to
freezing.

Any other suggestions for 0% absorbancy besides porcelain I'd
welcome....I haven't found any.
