hi group;

i have a smallish (22" x 17") cress kiln for emergency-batch bisque. it is
inside and absolutely needs venting. hoping to use the dryer vent hose
method, i wonder what size motor would be most suitable. can someone
suggest a brand/model number?

Steve...
I have an old Crusader kiln about the same size as yours. I just installed a
vent similar (maybe exactly) the same as your description. I purchased a 60
CFM Blower from GRAINGER (www.grainger.com) stock # 4C440-7 at $43.20 + tax.
I used flexible dryer hose and my run is about 6 feet to a dryer vent to the
outside. The hose is warm, not hot to the touch. I'm not sure if the blower
is big enough really wanted to vent to even out the firing within the kiln
not so much for the fumes. My kiln is in a tool shed in the back yard and I
have a ceiling fan and a lot of natural ventilation.

I've only glaze fired once with the new fan. Next time I'll place several
cones pads around the insdide and see if they fire equally.

BTW, the whole setup cost about $60 and took an afternoon to rig.

Good Luck
