Terry Sullivan/Nottingham Center for the Arts on mon 13 dec 99

Hi friends,

As the Nottingham Center for the Arts begins its second year we decided to
begin the new millenium with one of the twentieth centuries notable and
influential ceramists. Thus we have the honor to host Paul Soldner during
the first week of the new century from Jan 3-7 th.

Paul will spend the week discussing a life in clay and all the issues that
pertain to being an artist and a ceramist in particular. He will demonstrate
throwing, glazing, and build a sculpture or two. Throughout the week we will
fire several kilns from low fire salt to high fire stoneware and even the big
pit ( participants should bring lots of bisque pots).
Occasionaly we may take the afternoon off and venture out for a "field trip"
and outdoor class room adventure.
Evenings the studios will be open to all and many will hang around the
campfire for conversation and a brew.

There will be a slide show and informal reception on Tue. Jan 4 at 7 p.m.
which is free and open to the public.
And, for the workshop attendees and their guests, a grand finale party on
friday the 7 th. ( at the Nottingham Center or at the Nottingham Rancho
Relaxo in Vista).

There are still some spaces available for this event and still time to book
inexpensive airfare and lodging.
Also there is plenty of room at the center for motorhomes and trailers.

I remind you that the Nottingham Center offers scholorships to instructor
recomended students for all its workshops and that we extend an invitation
for instructors to attend any of our workshops as our guest (if space is
available).

If interested contact me directly, after all I'm the "Director", at my
Nottingham Center email address: or my
personal email address at: or phone (760)752-1020

Yours, Terry Sullivan

PS- Thank you all for sending kind words and condolances for our recently
departed friend and artist in residence David Blasdell. Words can not
describe how much he will be missed by me and the Nottingham crew.
