hairspray for dulling spray?

updated sun 12 dec 99

Awhile back I was talking about doing my photography with dulling spray and
daylight and somebody wrote that hairspray was the cheap way to go. Well I
am doing so much photography with my new Coolpix and webpage project and am
finding it hard to come up with the dulling spray. But the hairspray I
have gathering dust on the shelf made the pots even shinier than they were
already. So I obviously don't have the right kind. Whoever wrote that,
what brand am I looking for? Any hairdressers online here who might know?
Epicures of such matters? (I have used this stuff on my hair afew times in
my life, always regretted it, and only have the stuff as it came with a
good deal on shampoo............)

Thanks a zillion as usual. And best of holidays to everybody.........
hear lots of those stupendous hotel deals for 12/31/99 are going unspoken
for......

Eleanora,
You want the el cheapo aerosol (not pump) hairspray. Aqua Net or Rave are 2
that come to mind. You just want a fine mist, not a heavy spray. I have used
both these with success.

Hi Elenora!

The spray you used may have been outdated, if you left it on the shelf for a
long time.

I use Aqua Net to dull-out shiny objects. Be careful when applying this--a
little bit will go a long way. Test-spray, using a lesser pot with a similar
glaze, before committing your prized pots. The sprayed surface of the pot
will rinse off with warm water and soap, when the photography session is over.

Best wishes!
