Hi Toni:

When I don't like one of my pit-fire pieces I do one of 2 things. a) if it came
out "too" black (I like patterns) I re-bisque. b) if too pale, I simply re
pit-fire the piece. I've had good luck both ways.

On the other hand, if you like the colouration, try sealing with a satin finish
acrylic. If you still don't like it, try a) or b) above. Best of luck
