why work in a kiln room

My electric kiln is in my one room studio. During firing all four windows
as well as the door are wide open.
Except for checking on the kiln,i.e. throwing switches, I stay away until
the firing is almost done. By that time any fumes from firing have
dissipated. Cannot believe that having a kiln in the same work area can be
a hazard if one uses a modicum of common sense . Mia in sunny but cold
