Dear Clay Arters around The World=21

I have had another request for information from Germany, considered =22the =
western
world's leader in recycling=22 Anyone with something to add please pass it =
on
either on or off list... All suggestions will be translated (to the best of =
my
ability) and passed on to TON the German Clay Art-type list.

PREMISS: most of the manufactured tools one can buy are not very high =
quality
and/or are expensive. Christian Sautier even believes some are =22the worst =
thing
to apply to rotating clay one could think of=22. There must be hundreds of
=22alternative=22 tools to glean out of the garbage cans/rubbish bins or =
steal out
of the household.

QUESTION: what do you use? how do you use it?

EXAMPLE: Old credit card. Used to cut in the base of a pot before cutting =
off
the wheel with wire.

By the way, I have used the expression =22turning=22 in the subject line to =
include
those in the US who use it for what we only know as =22throwing=22 in the =
UK. But if
there are tips out there for what we call =22turning=22 (i.e. =
cutting/trimming at
leather hard stage on the wheel) then please pass them on too. Maybe with a =
note
making sure I understand? Wonderful having this mutual language, eh? :-) I =
would
also appreciate simple text for translating=21

Many thanks for your input. I am sure all will be gratefully received.

I have a very simple rule: if it looks like it'll do the job, try it. At
least a third of my tools come from other disciplines. I used to build
adjustable Guitar Bridges out of door plates, metal curtain fittings,
and 8BA bolts.
