well, alice was not available for my briefing and
would not be till monday. as i needed to get the job
done by then and return the compressor i sent both mel
and tony an e-mail asking for help with a few points
that i was not clear on. tony's mail came back as
undeliverable at clennell@bmts.com. is that the wrong
address? mel came thru on sunday a.m. with the
answerers that i needed. what a guy! so wonderful to
have this group to turn to when we need a boost of
confidence and some info. once again, mel, thanks so
much. the spraying went fairly well. i struggled
a bit with trying to stir the bucket, keep the end of
the hose in place and spray evenly at the same time.
the 2 thin coats on the kiln look great. i am not as
happy with the coverage on the shelves and kiln
furniture though as the overspray on the newspaper was
getting to seem wasteful and i was running low on itc.
the coverage on the shelves seems awfully thin to do
much good but i started getting drips if i tried to
put it on thicker. considering a thin coat of lees
kiln wash somewhere down the line if it looks like i
need it. so the sun is shining here on orcas island
and drying up those kiln shelves. yes! one step
closer to our first ever firing here at home. i must
mention the extreme patience of my well grounded
taurus husband, bob, withstood my minor freak outs
during this whole process. thanks to all for this
wonderful tool "clayart". ginny from orcas
