This is another web-site which explains that medical-grade super-glue is
different than over-the-counter-hardware-store-superglue.....how it is
different....and the hardware-store superglue should not be used. It
also explains how to use the medical-grade superglue. It provides
sources of medical tissue adhesives but indicates the products are
restricted items for veterinarian use only.????? (The site also
explains a few other things :~) )

I have used superglue for cuts and abrasions, but will stop considering this
discussion. I first got the brilliant idea while working for a vet. There
was a surgical adhesive that behaved just like superglue that was sometimes
used in place of outside sutures as well as to close the wounds of the poor
cats who had undergone claw amputation. I had a scalpel cut on the end of my
thumb and used the vet glue to close it. I was impressed that it seemed to
almost cauterize the wound. (I do not intend to advocate the use of
veterinary preparations for humans.) Someone told me it was essentially
superglue, hence my use of that on a few occasions. I have some stuff called
New Skin that works like superglue: alcohol 6.7%, pyroxylin solution, oil of
cloves, 8(or B?)-hydroxyquinoline. I got it at the drugstore and it's made
by Medtech Laboratories, 1-800-443-4908. You have to wash, dry, and reapply
every so often when throwing, but it helps me.
