I just received an invitation to Tom and Gail's Fall Open House, and it
appears that Tom is making pots again. Tom is certainly one of the most
important potter's ---- Ok, I'll say it --- I think that he is one of
the most important potters of the 20th century. Just my opinion, but I
am willing to defend it if anyone is interested.

His touch and vision are quite marvelous, and his pots --- we have about
20 of them --- are a constant joy and inspiration to live with.

Last week my wife Anne was holding one of Tom's pots and she said
something to the effect that Tom's sensibility for the clay was far
superior to mine. I could only agree as I marvel at them every time I
really look. He is a magician with clay and his aesthetic is very
advanced. It is truly wonderful that he is back making pots.

Gail's pots are more personal than Tom's --- she is much more
utilitarian oriented. Very strong functional porcelain.

If you are in the Columbus, OH area, you could attend their open house
this weekend. Marvelous people with a great studio and great pots.
Definitely worth seeing.

That said, it is really nice to see wonderful pots flow from Tom's hands
once again.
