About 10 years ago I was in San Diego taking some classes for work. Had to =
drive
to and from to have my car, so of course tried to find potters, galleries =
along
the way. One place I stopped in the San Diego area ( that I now know is in
Spring Valley ) was a potter that did beautiful copper reds, of which I =
bought 2
soup bowls. I have used and treasured these pots all these years but found =
when
guest came they always took these off the shelf to use themselves. Made me
nervouse. I needed to get some more. To my regret I had not gotten a card =
and
the signature was difficult to read since placed on a trimmed foot. THEN on
clayart a potter started to advise about copper reds and give some recipes =
for
red glazes. The name was David Cuzick (looked on the pot...could be...) =
Emailed
him and described the studio I had been to, especially the large TEAPOT ON A
POLE outside his studio that you could see as you drove up the mountain. To =
make
a long story short I now have 6 of the most beautiful copper red soup bowls.=
The
guy knows his glazes, listen to him, and by all means stop by if in the area=
for
his Holiday sale, ( I'll let him tell you when) and check out the web page =
he
and his wife have put together( again I'll let him give you the address )
He also does some nice shino's for those that like shino's
By the way David, how did you get the teapot up on such a high pole?

In fact, Dave Cuzick is having his annual preholiday sale on the Sat/Sun
after Thanksgiving. He does have some beautiful things; and reasonable
prices. He's on Campo Road, just off of Bancroft, if anyone is in the area.
