i live in alberta canada. saskatoons grow on tall bushes and are delicious
fresh with cream, or in the winter baked up in a pie. they are a warm
brownish burgundy colour. some folks have called the glaze 'ox blood'
colour. i will send on the recipe within the day. thanks for asking. an
aside- in the olden days the natives pounded the berries with buffalo fat
'pemmican'. they buried it to preserve then ate it over the winter.
