Once this starts, the only thing that ever really helps me is to use any of
the products recommended and then put on cotton gloves at night. I learned
this from my aunts many years ago. Used to laugh at them, until I needed the
information. Great with all the other wooly stuff I wear to bed in winter.
I also use cotton gloves over creamed hands while doing domestic tasks like
folding laundry. This gives the hands a chance to heal. This just becomes a
part of my necessary winter routine at some point every year. The gloves are
usually available at places like Linens and Things. Probably WallMart type
places as well. They can be ordered from the Vermont Country Store. Buy 2
or 3 pair as they have to be washed occasionally.
