Just thought I would share this with all Clay Buds:
http://www.axisartists.org.uk

No, it is not about Nazi art and artists - must admit that was my first =
thought
when I saw =22AXIS=22=21

Hosted and run by Leeds Metropolitan University, England, this is a database=
of
professional UK artists and their work, including a lot of potters,
cerambulists, etc.

Although =22new=22 it is growing fast. From 47 to 70 (GBpounds) the fee is a
significant investment, but includes images (three to six) and updating =
service.
The criteria are pretty stiff to fulfil... =22Professional status=22 has to =
be
proved. But, there is a Graduate Database for newly qualified artists, who =
could
not possibly have had the number of exhibitions, commissions, press =
exposure,
etc. expected of a fully fledged artist.

Axis claim the selection criteria, =22avoids subjective artistic =
value-judgements
determining your acceptance on the Axis database=22. Also: =22The Axis Board=
is made
up of arts professionals, artists, craftspeople and business advisors.=22

What will be interesting to Clay Art subscribers world wide, is the range of
work being produced in the UK. Not all elephant poo=21
