crater/lava effects--literally to glaze a volcano?

Hi There!

Here is a cone 6 crater glaze I've used:

Cryolite--33%
Zircopax--67%

Add Bentonite--2%

This is from Richard Behrens' Glaze Projects, a Ceramics Monthly publication.

A caveat, when handling wares glazed with crater glazes:

The cratered surface is extremely sharp. Handle the ware with gloves! Don't
apply this glaze to functional (dishes, bowls, or mugs) wares.
