Can someone explain what the acid:alkali ratio means in the context of
Iron oxide in oxidation?

Something about Fe2O3 acting as an alkali when in a highly acidic
glaze. ?And then my head goes pssssssss like a flat tire.

Bone ash (phosphorous)is many iron red glazes. This is a glassformer
(acidic). Psssss and then I run out of gas.

Thank You!

JOSH in west virginia.
