Hi, Alisa. If you open your foot pedal by unscrewing and removing the black
plastic on the bottom, you will see two plastic screw-like things, one red, =
one
blue. The red will increase the speed when adjusted, the blue will slow the
speed down. It sounds like you're having a problem I had once, so you may =
need
to recalibrate the foot pedal speed control by slowly turning the blue screw
down just until the wheel stops completely.

Hello Denmark
It could be the polarity of your electrical connection... this happened to me
awhile back when i changed wall outlets.... in AC current you have a hot
leg of power and a neutral leg of power... and the plug that comes with you
brent wheel must have the hot leg going to correct part of the plug... if it
gets reversed then your wheel head may screw up.... just one of many
things....

Dear Alisa, I too, have a wheel with a mind of it's own (Pacifica though)
and upon calling Laguna ( who were very helpful I might add) was informed
that it was the chip inside the pedal that controls the electronics of same.
I ordered, replaced and it has done well for several years , till recently I
have noticed the wheel starting to turn slowly when not in use again. I can
live with this for a while ,it's when you are throwing some large low form
that requires a nice slow steady speed and all of a sudden you get a short
burst of extreme speed that things get intolerable! : ) It has been several
years as I said , however I don't remember thinking the part was terribly
expensive. Hope this helps in that at least you know that you are not the
only one to have this happen. Tasha in N.M.

Alisa
If you turn your pedal upside down you will find two screws,
probably covered/ concealed by a sticky plastic strip. Those are for
speeding up or retarding the speed of your wheel. On my wheel
one is red and one is blue ( which one is which is lost in my
forgettery but you can experiment) You need to retard untill the
wheel stops. I found, when my Brent was new, I had to adjust quite
often. Hope this helps.

Dear Alisa,
Don't stomp on the pedal. There are plastic control parts and levers
inside the foot pedal. Take the cover plate off the bottom of the pedal
and adjust the speed with the red and/or blue pedals. You may also have
to dajust the positioning of the lever arm. If you have stomped on it,
you may have shifeted the position of this lever. Get the speed ration
to where you want it and play with the lever position as well. You have to
move the foot action plate to do this.

Alisa, I also have a Brent. I wasn't getting the power I thought I should
get so I opened up the foot pedal. There are two colored wires inside and
you must play with them to adjust the turn of the wheel. It is really a
simple procedure and there is not much inside that foot pedal that you can
hurt. Good luck. Let me know how you fare. Laura in sunny PA

Hello to All,
Just stepped in to this thread, but want to mention that the plastic lever has
a set screw that may not be tight. I had intermittant problems with my Brent
for years, adjusting and then readjusting weeks or months later. Finally in a
cleanup two years ago after a flood, I noticed the lever moved a bit. After an
adjustment and then tightening with an allen wrench, the wheel has not needed
any further adjustment.
You'da thought my being a mechanic, I'da noticed this long ago!
