Dear Judy,
Two books I can recommend: Ceramics by Glenn C. Nelson, Ceramic Design by
John B. Kenny. Mia in ABQ

Judy,

The first books which helped me were:

"A Potter's Book" by Bernard Leach
"Pottery on the Wheel" by Elspeth Woody (very good photos of the process)
"Making Pottery without a wheel: Form and texture in Clay" by F. Carlton
Ball and Janice Lovoos
"Pottery Workshop" by Charles Counts
and finally a book whose title I'm unclear off... I think it was called
"Getting Into Pots" by a husband-wife team named Wettlaufer.

Some of these books are out of print; some have been reprinted and many of
them are available used either online or at your local bookstore. Good luck
and good learning.
