Hello All,

I am in the process of changing sources for grog and would like to know
if any of you have used either Calamo Grog or Maryland Refractory "48 or
finer" or "30 and finer" high duty grog in your c/10 clay
body....reduction /gas firing. Any feedback would be greatly
appreciated.....

Thanks,
sandy

Sandy...

Maryland Refractories grog may be one to watch out for. I don't know all
the grades they produce, but they do recycle brick from kilns and a couple
of years ago there was a widespread problem with green burnouts. It was
later discovered that that grog had apparently come from a copper smelter.
