Jim B:
F-12 is Fusion Ceramics version of FF3134, Pemco P54, Hommel 14,
and the Seger resembles that of the mineral Gerstley Borate. However, F-12
now supplies K2O (not Na2O) and CaO amd B2O3 amd SiO2. The latest data
sheet from Fusion gives this analysis:
Calcium frit: F-12 (flux for artware and tile glazes):
K2O 10.4 wt%; CaO 20.0 wt%; Al2O3 0.8 wt%; B2O3 23.8 wt%; SiO2 45.0 wt%.
The expansion of this frit is cited as 8.18x10-6, and melting point as
1450 oF 788 oC.
