I am having a difficult time trying to keep glaze out of the ornament holes
through which I plan to hang a ribbon (if any of these ever turn =
out=21=21=21=21=21) I
was trying to hang the glazed ornaments on a bead tree, but if there was any
glaze in the ornament hole at all, it sticks to the wire going through the =
bead
tree. Is there a trick someone is willing to share?

Try pieces of spaghetti or toothpicks- or anything that will burn out during
firing----

Try using pipecleaners to ream out the hole after you glaze.

Hi Diane - You might try buying some chenille stems at a craft supply store
. Push it through the hole in your ornament and use it to dip the ornament
in the glaze. It will keep out most of the glaze, and will clean out the
hole even more when you pull it out. You might have to adjust the size of
the hole so the stem works efficiently.

The rain was south of you.We got just a little in NJ last night( more noise
than rain)
I have had some success using a dab of wax (hot or cold) in a squeeze bottle
(if hot better ware an oven mitt or gloves) and putting it in the holes. Or
reaming out the holes before firing.

I use my old proxy brush from my dental hygeine kit to clean the glaze from
small holes. The proxy brush is the tiny cone shaped soft bristle brush used
for cleaning between teeth. It has an angled handle and flexible wire in the
brush so I can get into awkward spots.

Hope this helps

.....or cut short pieces of straws and leave them in for the firing. Makes
larger holes.

Hi,
I haven't seen this suggestion yet.
I buy cheap sponges and cut them into tiny pieces and shove them onto the
holes before glazing.....you can either remove them before firing for touch
ups or just fire them with the pot , they will burn out.

I pick them out with a pin tool.
