hamada green, caution note

Hi Peter, and the list

Hamada Green is one of those glazes that one needs to use with a great deal
of caution--

It was in use for years in the Bennington College studio-and while often
quite lovely, just as often a real mess. It's a glaze which, in my opinion,
is notoriously unstable. As I recall the firing range is tiny and a little
too hot means runny (oh those kiln shelves).

I don't have a recipe of the glaze at hand, but I'm sure someone will come
up with one and I just wanted to say that caution is advised.

Best Regards, Jane
