Space still available for John Harris's workshop "25 Years of
Techniques: Constructing Large Scale Vessels" on July 31 at
Architektura in Yelm, WA. (45 minutes south of Tacoma, WA).

This one day workshop will feature John's unique combination of slab and
throwing techniques to create large forms - EASILY.

Learn new ideas and production techniques and tips for throwing and
handbuilding large vessels that you never thought possible.

Included in the workshop will demos for:
- Slab bottoms for large forms
- Production throwing techniques
- Unique lids for covered jars
- Slump molding platters & plates
- Wide based casseroles & baking dishes
- Textured and designed slabs
- Slip & terra sigilatta EVEN application/decoration
- Cricket Pots with coil lattice technique
- Wood fired forms

John Harris has been a studio potter since 1973, studying at the Univ.
of Oregon and Calif. St. Univ. at Fullerton. Since 1973, John has
developed unique production techniques which allow him to create large
forms easily and almost effortlessly. Johns works with Raku, Low Fire
adn Wood Firing. He currently maintains a studio in Washington State.
John's pots have been published in Robert Piepenburg's Raku book. His
work is represented by galleries and is privately collected.

Architektura Visiting Artist Workshops in Yelm, WA. will host a one day
workshop, "Making Big Pots" with John Harris on Sat. Sept 9.

John will demo his unique combination of slab and throwing techniques to
create large forms - EASILY. Demonstrations will include slab bottoms for
large forms, slump molding platters & plates, production throwing
techniques, unique lids for covered jars, wide base casseroles & baking
dishes, textured and designed slabs, and wood fired forms. Learn new ideas
and production techniques for throwing and handbuilding large vessels that
you could ever imagine possible. This is a =93demonstration only=94 workshop=

with plenty of time for questions & answers.

John Harris has been a studio potter since 1973, studying at the University
of Oregon and California State University at Fullerton. John is a fabulous
& Fun workshop instructor, sharing his 25+ years of clay experience -
openly.
