the train is done. and man, oh, man did kurt do a nice job.
we mounted the wheels on it tonight, and arnie is making
the piston.
but, seriously, it went together very well.....a great many hard
brick...with back up soft///many brands, styles and colors of brick
in this baby.
took down several other kilns to get enough brick for the chimney.

doug gray and tom wirt placed most of the brick, and did the slather
job with the mortor....had to make this puppy tight.

dannon, sarah and some others lugged brick, dannon as usual,
kept kurt in line with good suggestions and guidance. all shared
in the discussion of design as problems became evident...as usual,
this project had a brain of it's own....thanks to john neeley for his help
and discussion, and the letters from tony led us to new insight.

kurt was very good at giving up control of the project, and allowing
all to have opinions...that is vital in the learning style of potters.

it is strange to see this kiln in the middle of camp...waiting to be fired.
pots are all lined up and ready for the kiln.

we will publish some pix as we get them back.

camp is gonig well, nice weather, no bugs yet, and
the gang is going swimming in about an hour.
our new cook has been a god send.
black beans are soaking, and the grilled chicken
\oriental was out of this world.

susan karrisch and larron lerdahl just finished a cone 11
stoneware kiln.
raku is rolling, and the dock sixers are loading the salt kiln
in the morning.
painting, calligraphy, sewing and metals are cooking along.

best to you all.
the train pulls out of the station tomorrow.
