Hi all,

I am heading up to Homer, Alaska to visit relatives - one of whom helps to
run Two Sisters Bakery - and would like to know if there are any potteries
or galleries in the area that are recommended by folks on the list?

I plan on being there from July 3 - 20th, and would love to meet up with
anyone working in that area if possible.

Parri, try calling Ahna Iredale: 907-235-POTS. Tried to contact you
off-line, but never got thru.
Homer is reportedly rife with potters...

Parri, I wasn't sure you would get this off list, so here it is.

You might look up Ahna Iredale in Homer. For years she was a potter in
Soldotna, where my home is, about 75 miles up the road from Homer. She moved
to Homer a few years ago. She can definitely give you some pointers on who
to see and where to go. Also stop in at Ptarmigan Arts on Pioneer Street.
That is the main drag. They carry a lot of stuff by many local potters, and
will serve as a local Who's Who. Also, there is Lynn Marie Naden. Not a
specifically a potter but does beautiful clay work. Ptarmigan Arts can tell
you how to contact her.

If you get the chance, take a water taxi down on Homer Spit, and go over to
Seldovia, on the other side of Kachemak Bay, across from Homer. Plan to
spend the day. It's a great place. Lots of artists there.

Homer, as well as Kachemak Bay, are special places on this planet.

Enjoy your visit.
