We just returned from a fantastic workshop given by Richard Aerni. It was a
demonstration type workshop at the Lee Arts Center, in Arlington, VA.
Watching Richard throw and develop such beautiful lines and finished pieces
with absolutely minimum trimming was thrilling. We learned a lot about
balancing the weight in a piece so it can look massive but still be very
light weight. Great decoration ideas and he also gave out everything you
could ask for in the way of information about his fabulous ash glazes --
recipes and application tips. Saturday night we all got together socially for
dinner, including Richard, at Richard's gracious host's home, which really
gave us an opportunity to see another side of many ClayArters in attendance.
If he comes back to give another workshop, don't miss it.

Just came back from Richard Aerni's exhibit at The Gallery in =
Bloomington, Indiana. BEAUTIFUL work Richard! I was unable to attend =
the opening because it was my youngest 5th birthday (pottery is =
wonderful but you only turn 5 once!). We got up early this AM, had =
breakfast at The Bake House, and walked over to the show. What a =
wonderful morning! Thank you for bringing your work to our town. BTW: =
I purchased a great Aerni coffee mug and plan on returning (when my Mom =
is not with me) to purchase a teapot as a Christmas present for my =
Mother. =20
