Hi to everyone in the Clayart world. I'm new to the list, and relatively
new to pottery, but learning fast, thanks to all of you!

Would appreciate some specifics on 'volcanic glazes'. I admired some
beautiful, rough-textured pots and was told: "Silicon carbonate is added
to slips, painted on greenware, bisque-fired, topped with 1 or 2 other
glazes, then fired at ^6, oxidation".

Does anyone have any more detailed info than that? I can't find anything
in my books. The potter said this technique isn't done that much...?
Thank you in advance for your help.
