Hello wonderful clayart list: I've been a lurker for a few months
soaking it all in. I'm a new-ish potter/student (about 3 years) and very
passionate about it. Now I have a question I need some advice on:
My teacher and I will be doing a gas firing at the end of June and
sharing the kiln space. I have to go on a 3 week trip and the only
available firing date is just before I get back. I am wondering if it
would be possible to glaze everything before I leave, wrap it well in
plastic, and send it off to the firing with my teacher. We are using
shino, a tenmoku and a celadon glaze in cone 10 reduction firing. Would
the glazes suffer from being on the bisqued pots for so long?
Thanks for your advice,
Olga van Kranendonk (in Toronto)
