Hello-- I have a question about ilmenite. Is granular ilmenite and 'milled'
ilmenite the same?In the book "The Potters Pallette", ilmenite is used to
make some really cool effects.I tried to get some ,but Laguna no longer
mills it--that is what we were told.Does that mean it is no longer milled
,or they just no longer carry it? A very fine woman donated some stuff to us
and included was a bag of granular ilmenite.Yeah!! I did tests on it and it
was no where near what the book showed it could do---WHAT UP?

Thanks Bill, but I don't think so. We have granular illmenite and they
are very different. Tom Buck thinks it may be Rutile but no again He
also says it does sound like manganese carbonate which is my hunch too.
I vaguely remember these was a large quantity a quarter a century ago
when I 'inherited" (via job) the ceramics studio.
And yes Edouard is a great resource.
