red glaze firing white

Lowfire lead glazes that are supposed to be red are notorious for firing
clear. The solution that works for me is to fire them to cone 08. A
fast firing is preferable to a slow one. The 08 solution works for me
every time. The glaze is shiny and looks mature. I don't worry if it
is foodsafe because I would not put a lowfire lead glaze on pottery
anyway.
