Cheryl...You can not fire Duncan red glazes with any copper in the kiln...it
fumes it away. If the firing before your red fire had alot of copper glazes
it will have an effect on the color. Also, fire the kiln one cone
lower...^07, it's a good insurance policy to keep the red glaze red.

As for the magnets I ordered them from HARMONY, a catalog that I recieve.
the # is 1-800-869-3446. I purchased the : ' Tiny Neo Dot Magnets " 08-0160
you get 5 for $ 28.00.

This catalog is great to order non-petroleum...non-clorine , no phosphate
and recycled, natural products. Free shipping on all environmentally safe
household products.

PETROLEUM based products are ruining the ecosystem.. if every household
replaced 1 box of petro-based laundry detergent with coconut oil - based...
thats 185,000 barrels less of cude oil used in this country. I'm doing my
part!....Lisa,in NJ

Subject: Duncan Matador Red firing white?

----------------------------Original message----------------------------
Someone mentioned having this Duncan lowfire glaze turn out white instead
of red a while back. Did you ever figure out why that happened? I just
fired a few pieces in my big kiln along with a stoneware bisque and they
are snow white compared to the previous successes I've had in my test
kiln.
