lana wilson's book

updated thu 21 dec 06

Hanne Bjorklund on mon 12 apr 99

A Great Big Thank You to Dana, Debbie, Ken, Dianna, Karen, Mike, Bacia,
Steven, Harvey and anyone I have inadvertently left off the list, for
information regarding Lana Wilson's book and video. I am looking forward to
owning both, everyone has spoken so highly of them.

I have also had a very nice post from Lana Wilson herself. She has been
to Nelson (NZ South Island) and has taught at the Polytechnic. (I wish I
had known). We even have a mutual friend.

She invited me to get in touch with her in September when I drive through
Del Mar on my way to San Diego.

It's a wonderful world, full of clay-friends we just haven't met yet.

Thanks again.

Can anyone tell me how I can get a copy of Ceramics: Shape and Surface. No

order a copy to be sent to me in sunny south of France ?
Thanks in advance

Marianne,

You're in luck. You can get this book from The Potters Shop, run by our own
Stephen Branfman, and as it's the holidays, you can get it for a substantial
discount. I got mine from him last year, and it's well worth having.

Dear Marianne,
I love this book especially the students' contributions. Lana's approach
to glaze chemistry is also
coherent with the way my brain works.
The ad is usually in Ceramics Monthly classified:
Ceramics:Shape and Surface
send $25 to Lana Wilson
465 Hidden Pines Lane
Del Mar, Ca. 92014
Enjoy!
Marcia

Marianne: Lana's e-mail, as listed in Clay Times, is
lwilson@ucsd.edu
In a C.M. ad, she says to send $22 to Lana Wilson, 465 Hidden
Pines Lane, Del Mar, CA 92014
I think from abroad, you would send $25. I just read the end of
the ad and it says $20 plus $5 shipping for international orders.
Hope this helps.

Try Steve Branfman's Potter's Shop in Needham Mass. If not in stock, he
can get it. Excellent price and service.
Diane in CT (an oft satisfied customer)
check the archives, I'm sure the phone # is there somewhere. I don't
have it handy.

Hi Marianne, I got my copy at Highwater Clay in Asheville, N. C. They have a web
site at highwaterclays.com. Good luck....this is an interesting book...not for
the beginner, as I am, and leaves some questions unanswered. But, if you are
experienced and familiar with her work you may not have any problems.

I just picked up Lana's book (fabulous, by the way) in a personal visit to
Axner, so they should have it in stock now.

Hi,

I have a favor to ask. For a friend, I am looking for some
non-functional wood firing-ish appearing glazes that are in Lana
Wilson's book. I believe they are ^ 6 electric. My copy of her book
is, of course, in Atlanta with most of our other belongings. Can
anyone help me out? By the way, Lana's book is really great, check it
out.....lots of fine info in there.

Thanks,
Lori L.
