Duh........... what a brain. Forgot the last paragraph to the last post
about this subject. Been thinking about it all day until I could get back
here and add it. Sorry about that.

If the free silica is high enough in the body even if it DOESN'T convert to
the cristobalite form and the glaze/body relationship is already on the
cusp for the strenght of the body than a little extra free silica in the
body could push it over the edge and give you dunting on cooling.
