Hello fellow Clayarters -- On Feb. 26, 1999, fire swept through the
Minneasota Renaissance Faire near Skakopee, MN. Of the 32 booths destroyed,
22 of them were owned by independent crafters, artists, and food producers
(of which, several were clay or glass artists). Most of them were uninsured.
They are in need of your help.

The Phoenix Project has been organized and is dedicated to providing
assistance to help these artists who have lost much in the fire to rebuild.

Information on how you may be able to assist may be found at:

I sincerely hope you all may find the spirit of helping in your hearts to
aid fellow troopers. Thank you all in advance.

Disclaimer: I do not have a booth, etc., at the faire, though I do assist in
helping out a friend whose shop was destroyed in the fire. I know a number
of the artists who did have shops burn down. I am not associated with the
Phoenix Project in any form. I am posting this to CLAYART in order to help
get the word out about the fire and I'm hoping that others on this list may
post this message to other resources that you may have access to (like
rec.crafts.pottery, which I'm unable to connect with at this time).

Maybe some clayarters from the Twin Cities area can add to this information,
as I live a good five hours from the faire site and news is a bit lacking.
Again, thank you all very, very much.
