Now that Winter has passed into Spring, and everyone is home from NCECA. It
seems like a good moment to let you all know of the workshops planned for this
Summer here at my place. Vince Pitelka is coming out again and offering two
week long workshops. "Pattern and Imagery in Colored Clay" will be given the
week of July 19th to 23rd, and "Ancient Clay" will run from July 26th through
30th.

If all goes as planned, Vince will be joined by Dannon Rhudy to give a loosely
structured presentation in Bellingham on that final Friday, July 30th. Times
and location of that happening are still undetermined. Dannon will be staying
on to offer a workshop the following week, August 2nd though 6th, entitled
"Ordering Chaos: Pots of Purpose from Greenware Molds".

If you or anyone you know would be interested in more information regarding
this Summer's offerings, I suggest you look at the newly updated information
on my web site:

Once you get to my home page, just click on the link to "Summer Workshops with
Vince Pitelka and Dannon Rhudy". That will take you to a page with short
descriptions of all three workshops, prices and such. If you click on the
title of each workshop you will go to a page with quite detailed descriptions
of what each workshop will cover. In revising these pages for this year, I've
been able to include several more images of the presenters' work. Take a look!
This will be the third year that we've had workshops here. Although every
session has been different, they have all been "special". I want to thank all
the Clayart subscribers who have been so helpful in spreading the word about
and attending them. Since I seem to get out very little, this is my big chance
to get to meet fellow Clayarters. I wish you all could come...

Workshop participants at any of these offerings are welcome to stay on the
property, either camped out in their vehicles or tenting on the lawn among the
orchard & gardens, (though it's about a mile trek to shower facilities). We
generally pool our time and resources to prepare communal lunches and dinners,
and most evenings we gather round a campfire to bask in each other's company.
For those less hardy, or with larger budgets, there is a beautiful Bed &
Breakfast just across the lawn, and a couple of motels within a mile of the
site. for complete information about any of these offerings from daily
activity schedules to resumes and pictures of Vince and Dannon and their work,
please see my web site:
