Ceramics: Salt, Soda, =26 Wood

A two-day workshop providing students with the experience of salt/soda and
wood-firing stoneware and porcelain. The students will bring bisque-fired
pottery and/or sculpture to glaze and fire. The first day will consist of a
brief slide lecture about the materials and firing processes followed by =
glazing
the work and loading the kilns. On the second day the students will work in
shifts to fire the 30 cu ft catenary arch cross draft wood-burning kiln and =
the
24 cu ft sprung arch down draft sodium vapor kiln.

Dates/Times:
Friday 2/26/99, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturday 2/27/99, 10:00 am - 12:00 am
