Forgot to mention that Penetrometers are also available from Miners in Idaho. See the "Glaze hardness" post for contact numbers. Their penetrometers are for soils and rock........ an optional foot is needed for softer materials like clay........just ask them for the specs. From Alohaland, Ditmar.
