air brushing a new fritted glaze.

Dear CLAYARTERS I have just been test glazing a [Clear] 2 Frit + ballclay
mixture using an
Air brush on small test bowls it goes on OK but the top of the dryed out
glaze appears
fluffy like an overspray and consequently it is not easy to handle when
placing the pots in the Kiln is there anything I can to use that will firm
up the surface and
not spoil the clearness when fired. I guesed at glycerine but till now I
have never had a need to use it. Can anyone give a suggestion???

Kind regards, Brian C.,

Brian,

Adding cmc or veegum will make the glaze surface harder and will suspend the
glaze better which is good with a fritted glaze.
