Well to coin a phrase," it's elementary my dear...." Actually The word
'well' is a source of water, which could, but not be limited to the problem.
Public water also contains certain chemicals that when combined with certain
glaze chemicals shift the glaze towards one end of the scale or the other.
Try using distilled water and see what happens. Thats all I can think of
