G'day Clayarters,

I have a feeling this question has been raised not so long ago but here goes
any way has any one words of wisdom to offer on Marbling Pots???

Preparation of materials dipping firing best materials to use do you add any
extra decoration to the Pot etc., I have done it but there are sure to be
many new ideas in the Clay world.

Could a few experienced Marblers add their method??

With kind regards, Brian C.,

I personally love marbling pots. I not only believe simpler is better but =
I
believe that marbled pots are so lovely they do not need added decoration.=
I
started by simply mixing red to white earthenware =3E05/06. I have since =
mixed
mason stains into the white earthenware for a larger variety of color. I =
have
also mixed Red Tin Oxided into the white earthenware which gives me =
beautiful
reds. I am restricted to an electric kiln so I don't know what a gas or =
wood
kiln might do (but I love to find out).

Things I have tried and felft were successful are . . .
- marbling more than 2 colors
- brushing on 1 thin coat of clear (for less sheen)
- brushing on a clear color (for a different look)
- hand altering

Please let me know if there are other options I might want to try=21
Thanx
