If you are testing more than one glaze, don't miss the chance to see what =
mixing
two together will do. I have found that two glazes of the same cone always =
make
a glaze, almost always as good or better than the originals. In some cases =
two
wrongs even make a right. Just keep records nothing is worse than not
knowing where a good test tile came from. For that matter I can't say often =
or
loud enough KEEP RECORDS. Even that ugly bubbly mess may be just the crater
glaze you need some day.

If you would like to experiment with additions to a bucket of glaze you =
already
have,3/4 of a cup of liquid glaze is close enough to 100 grams to use as =
base
for =25 additions of colorants , modifiers, opacifiers, even flint to =
raise the
melting point . Who hasn't looked at a pot wondered what the glaze would =
look
like with just a little of this or that added. I can't wait to see what a =
little
illmenite will do for a couple of my glazes.

It isn't scientific but its fun.
