fwd: firing paperclay

From what Deb Clay in Calgary describes- with a packed kiln- there will
likely be a smoking period early in the fire for a couple of
hours-untreated paper should be burned off by the time the kiln gets
past 500F-early.To give you an idea of what to expect, there is less
less smoke than the sort of smoke that would happen if you fire pieces
with crumpled up newsprint as interior "stuffing"... Another
comparison might might be something like the couple hour early wax burn
off period for some glaze fires-except it smells like paper not wax. The
open garage door should be more than plenty of ventilation however.

Thanks for the forward-Dawne. Cheers to you.
