G'day Clayarters,

Has anyone knowlege of a manufacturer of pottery turning tools made of
Tungsten Carbide or Ferrotic "C"??? My hardened Stainless Steel tools just
dont last on grogged clay or Raku clay.

Both Tungsten Carbide and Ferrotic have been used in Engineering machining
tools since Adam was a teenager so surely it has migrated into the clay
world by now.

Can any one help??? Look forward to hearing from you ,, Kind regards, Brian C.,

Hi Brian,
I bought a tungsten carbide trimming tool a couple years ago at NCECA. It was no
inexpensive, but I do love its performance......it is produced by:
Bison Studios

Las Vegas, Nevada 89102
Phone: 702-388-2891
Best Wishes!

I have still to find turning tools that work better for me than those =
made from the steel strapping that is used to secure packs of building =
materials.
It was the thread on sharpening turning tools that led me to post, as my =
tools are self sharpening and cost nothing. (And as I said above I =
prefer them to any I have purchased - in the UK).
I have even gone so far as to put up a couple of pictures.

http://www.ukpotters.co.uk/MyPage.htm and follow the link to turning =
tools.
